A roughly 5-acre property in the Hamptons has sold for around $45 million in an off-market deal, according to people familiar with the transaction.

The seller of the Bridgehampton property was divorce lawyer Irving Shafran, according to property records. Mr. Shafran and his late wife, book editor Judith Shafran, bought the property for $10 million in 2004, records show. They built a roughly 7,500-square-foot house with a tennis court and pool, records show. Mr. Shafran declined to comment.

Located on Sagaponack Pond, the main house is located on approximately 4 acres with an adjacent, roughly 1-acre buildable lot.

Christopher Covert of Compass and Hedgerow Exclusive Properties brokered the deal.

The deal is the latest in a string of pricey Hamptons home sales. A roughly 4-acre Sagaponack estate that belonged to the late Johnson & Johnson chief executive James Burke recently sold for $46.5 million, records show. A roughly 2.6-acre estate on the ocean in Southampton recently listed for $44.995 million.
